Since the end of Fall tour, I’ve gone back to my initial concept of illustrating songs in ink and watercolor. With less than 46 days til Phish plays again, I’m trying to do as many as I can. I would eventually like to replace the images I use in my illustrated setlists with hand colored ones, hopefully by summer tour 2015. In the meantime, I’ll be posting songs as I draw them here. They are all for sale, and only 1 of each song will be painted. Ink and watercolor on 6×8 140lb paper. I’ll take requests for specific songs, inquiries can be sent to me via direct message on twitter, instagram, or facebook.

Phish tour is back on! They are touring the West Coast, ending with a 3 night Halloween run in Las Vegas. With school in session, but the 3 hour time difference, I sadly won’t be able to create them live (Maybe for the weekend shows). I’m trying a new layout and headers, as well as some new drawings for songs.
Prints are available for sale now, as well as every prints from every show of Summer Tour, and as always, a portion of the profits is donated to the Mockingbird Foundation, which helps provide music education to children.
It’s that time of year again! Phish at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Colorado! Of course everyone is talking about the gag they’ll do the first night. This has been a tradition since 2011, starting with the “S” set (every song started with “s”). 2012 had their songs spelling out “F-ck your face”, and 2013’s show spelled out “Most shows spell something (in reverse). As speculations run abound the interwebs, Pete from Phanart.net got a hold of me and we got to collaborating on some possible sets. He gave me 4 possible scenarios, each based on a theme, which I then illustrated. We will be releasing 1 each day leading up to Phish at Dicks. No answer key is provided (yet), so you will have to use your Phish knowledge (although phish.net’s song histories are very helpful). The only hint I’ll give is that each song has been played by…
Apologies all around! I have been neglecting this site this summer. I’ve been busy on my other site, illustrating Phish setlists, and trying to get ready for a wedding in about 2 weeks. So it’s been waking up at 8 and treating this as a job, since it’s what I do all day. Summer started out without a hitch, I was doing Free Art Fridays, as well as The First Friday on July 4th (it was a weird one).
One of my favorite bands, Phish, started touring in July. As anyone who follows this blog knows, Summer= Phish related art. I even created a blog just for it. This year was nonstop phish art, in part because I’ve been illustrated every setlist of every show this summer, in real time, either by attending or listening to audio streams of the show live.
Drawing/listening everywhere I went
What started out as drawing random songs (which I’ve posted here in the past), and drawing their short setlist when they played on David Letterman as a challenge, kinda blew up. I posted it on my tumblr, which doesn’t seem to be visited much, and shortly after Letterman’s official tumblr account (Who knew he had a tumblr?) reblogged it, although by looking at the notes it seems not a lot of people follow it. I started doing the next few shows, and eventually someone retweeted it, and it went crazy from there. I was contacted by Phish.net about them, who allowed me to use their set notes on my art (which happens to be copywrited) and they even used them in their show recaps! I have the entire tour available for sale, and will soon start taking commissions for specific shows, possible as larger sized and hand drawn/colored. With the sale of these prints, a portion is donated to the Mockingbird Foundation, who provide music education to children.
I finally got my prints made of the set list I drew for Phish’s tour opener. In spirit of the season (summer tour season!) I’ll be offering these 11.x14 prints for only $10! I usually price this size for 15 bucks, but for those I might run into on the lots who can’t buy it then, I’d like to offer the same lot price online. It’ll be an edition of 50, so grab yours now!
I had a great time at theHarrisburg Jamfestthis weekend! I got to see lots of friends, many of whom played the event. It had the backyard camping feel (It originated on the promoter’s mom’s backyard) I set up on Saturday along with some other venders and it was nice to have people recognize obscure phish reference in the some of my artwork. I sold a couple prints and an antelope painting, so the weekend was successful, but more importantly I had fun!
The girl that bought this insisted on displaying this all weekend! I plan to do more of these, as well as traditional yellow antelope canvases for the lots. I also sell them through myesty shop, available in whatever colors you’d like (just post a request in a comment). I’m also gearing up for the start of tour tomorrow, and on the search for a…
I gave it the old digital try. Hadn’t done art on a computer in a while, but I’ve had the time to give it a second chance. I hand drew the ingredients and did colored it digitally. I think last time I worked with coloring on a computer was high school computer art class (yeah, we had those in the 90s!).
I plan to have these on the lots at Mann and MPP, they will also be available online via Etsy. They are 11×17 on 65 lb paper. Each one is hand signed and limited to an edition of 50.
Scouring my external hard drive, I also came upon this gem. Not directly phish related, but I had done it for a flyer for the band Great Northeast from Harrisburg, Pa (my hometown). It’s comprised of 150+ bluegrass instruments and was possibly the reason I stopped doing digital…
