Armadillo Study
I happy to share one of my recent prints, one of many I have done during quarantine! I’ve had a fascination with armadillos, and have included them in some of my previous work . I had drawn my most recent one planning to incorporate it into a Phish poster I had planned, but we all know what happened…
The original was an ink drawing, which I digitally added some watercolor backgrounds. Prints are 8×10 Gloss Card (110# Cover), and available in 3 signed and numbered editions: Black and white (100), galaxy (50), and warm/cool (50). Prints can be found in my Etsy shop: www.etsy.com/listing/830370493/armadillo-study
“..So don’t worry about falling..”
One of my first art prints in a while! Worms in a wormhole? Sure, why not! I had originally planned to use this as a phan print for Phish summer tour, choosing this image due to the net imagery, which reminds me of the song “Mercury”. I’m also a big fan of space related things, especially worm holes and black holes. The pink “worm” is actually inspired by a diagram of what a worm hole might look like!
Prints are available in my shop now!Â
Signed and numbered edition of 50, printed on 13×19 high quality glossy paper (110# cover) and based off an ink and watercolor illustration that was then digitally arranged.
This image was original created as a hand drawn sticker which found itself up somewhere in Philly years ago.
I’ll be releasing more prints inspired by old sketches, sticker art, drawings a I’ve done in the past. Be sure to follow my FB, Instagram, or Twitter for updates!
Shop’s Open!
I recently reopened my shop, updating it with some older work, some unreleased stuff, and some new work! I had originally opened it as my Phish and Grateful dead started to take over my original shop, Joseeen.etsy.com . I wanted a shop for those who may not be fans, not having to scroll through art they wouldn’t have interest in. Over the years my main shop took over my life, along with working as an art teacher! Now, as a distance learning teacher, I find myself in my studio most of the day, so it seemed logical to go through and find work I had forgotten about. I went ahead and updated my shop, added new items such as shirts, and just released my first art print in a while! I’ll be adding more stuff, such as etchings and previously unreleased linocuts. I’ll also be adding some new prints I’ve been working on

I recently finished up my latest series, 15 show posters for the band Phish’s summer tour.  I done posters for past shows, but only a handful (aside from my illustrated setlists for every show).  I wanted a bit of a challenge, and wanted every poster to have a common theme.  I also wanted to get back to drawing figures, as well as working with micron pens.  Using the obvious fishing theme, I used the state fish of each venue (as well as fish found in the area for multiple shows in the same state.)  Some of figures used were actual Phish fans who submitted pictures!
All the posters are available at www.phishart.com. I also have a couple “unphished” versions available in my Etsy shop.
I’ve come up with some new(ish) things the last couple weeks.  I’ve continued to draw and paint on new surfaces, including wood, vinyl, floppy disks, ect.  Although some are for sale, the majority of the work I’ve done lately has ended up on the streets of Philadelphia.  I’ve revisited the theme of saints, which has been a favorite of mine.  Each drawing is done with oil markers, as well as copic markers.  They are then installed throughout the city.
They are up all over the city, some prominent, others hidden out of sight.  Philly has a very active and diverse street art scene, and it’s share of devoted fans who document it.  For a sample of what Philly offers check out Elgrba and DDay521‘s Instagram feeds for a taste.
I’ve got 2 larger ones I’ve done for sale via my shop. Â I’ll be doing more large pieces in the near future as well
Throughout the last couple months, my Phish related art has taken off, and most of my time with that.  I’ve been drawing illustrated setlists of every show since summer tour, and that has taken up my Etsy shop as well.  I decided to open up a new shop for my other artwork (the stuff with skulls, dinosaurs, and girls).  Some of it had previously been available, some will new, others will have never been offered online.  I’ll be offering old work at reasonable prices, including sales in the future and be adding new work regularly.
Spring time is here, which means that lots of things will be happening artwise for me. Â First is my spring sale on my Etsy site. Â I’m in need of space in my apartment for new work, and will happily sell some work at a decent price to accomplish that. Â So from now until April 25th, you can use the coupon code SPRINGBREAK to receive 25% off anything in my shop. Â I’ve also put up listings that had previously expired (many etchings!), so you can can take full advantage of this offer. Â 69 (more soon) prints, paintings, etchings, and drawings to choose from. Â
In Phish related news, I’ve been hard at work on stuff to sell this summer. Â With my wedding in August, this will be a slim year show-wise. Â I’ll be at the Mann Center in Philadelphia (huzzah! Â 20 minutes from my house) Â for their 2 night run July 8th and 9th and Merriweather Post Pavillion in Maryland on July 26th and 27th. Â Sadly I won’t be making it to SPAC ($$$), but I won’t discount a possible night at Randall’s Island.
I’ll have some new antelopes to sell, including some Philly related ones.
I’m on the fence whether I want to offer these as prints or just try to sell the originals at the lots. Â They are currently available on my Etsy shop, but I’ll be making more if they sell out for this summer.
Sketch for a possible Mann Center Poster. Â It’s very fitting, since the Mann is right next to the Philadelphia Zoo. Â I Actually looked up every Phish song that was named after an animal and drew a map showing where you can find them at the Philly Zoo. Â Sadly there are no ocelots or llamas there…
More to come soon!
I admit it, I’ve been horrible at updating my site.  Although I’ve been creating new work, you wouldn’t think so by looking at this site (to be honest, I’m way better at updating my Facebook page and Instagram.)  As the holidays approached, it seemed prudent to finally get motivated and post some new art up for sale on my Etsy, as well as share what I’ve been up to.  I’ve been working on various series, ADD style.  Some will continue into the spring, others won’t.  But they are all up for grabs, and by using code FESTIVUS15, you can get 15% off! As usual, all orders ship with stickers and whatnot.
Block and Roll
2013 started off on a roll (pardon the pun). Â I had been previously making some simple block prints (mainly examples that I’d use in class) which I’d make stickers out of, but I hadn’t really worked seriously with lino blocks since college.
Getting some new blades motivated me to work detailed again. Â My first couple prints were more studies than anything, making block print versions of several drawings/paintings I had done previously.
More blocks are upcoming, And these are all currently available through Etsy!
